What was the need to introduce Suman Scheme?

Features and Benefits of Suman Scheme 2022

• Pregnant women and new parents are entitled to many complimentary services at public health facilities under this programme.
• At least four prenatal check-ups are part of the free health services.
• A minimum of one free prenatal check-up is required during each of the three trimesters of pregnancy.
• The recipients will also be entitled to six home-based new-born care visits, at least one check-up under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, iron and folic acid supplementation, tetanus and diphtheria vaccinations, and other components of a complete ANC package.

• The plan will also ensure that essential care is provided with respect, decency, and privacy.
• Following delivery, the woman will receive support and an early start to breastfeeding.
